Review of Grand Rivers, Kentucky

Coastal Living in the MidWest
Star Rating - 6/8/2010
Grand Rivers is one of the smallest towns in the country but offers more to the quality of life than any other place I've visited. When it came to think about retirement, this place was the winner, hands down. The people are friendly, the cost of living is less than most other areas of the country and every amenity for day-to-day living is available a short golf cart ride away within the two mile area that comprises the City of Grand Rivers. The city is situated between the two largest man-made lakes in the country, comprising 240,000 acres, with waterway access to any place in the world. These two lakes, Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, are separated by the Land Between the Lakes, a national park, that comprises another 170,000 acres of land where you can hike, camp and see all kinds of wildlife, including buffalo and bald eagles. We have a sailboat marina, Lighthouse Landing, on Kentucky Lake and a large resort marina, Green Turtle Bay, on Barkley Lake. Every day is like being on vacation. It just doesn't get any better than this!
